Easy Take

Easy Take privacy policy

Easy Take keeps your recordings on your Mac. Nothing you record is uploaded, there is no account or sign-in, and the app asks only for what it uses to record.

Updated 4 October 2026

The short version

Easy Take records your screen, your camera and your microphone on your Mac, and keeps the results there. Nothing you record is uploaded. There is no account and no sign-in.

Your recordings stay on your Mac

Everything Easy Take records is saved in the app’s own folder on your Mac. Your edits are saved there too. When you export, the video goes where you choose in the save dialog.

Easy Take does not upload your recordings, your exported videos, your project names or anything else you make. There is no cloud copy and no share link. If you want to send a video to someone, you send the file yourself, the same way you send any other file.

No account, no sign-in

You do not create an account to use Easy Take. There is no email to enter and nothing to log in to. You download the app and start recording.

What Easy Take asks for, and why

Easy Take is sandboxed by macOS, which means it can only reach what you allow. It asks for:

  • Screen recording, to record the display or the window you pick.
  • Camera, so you can appear in your videos.
  • Microphone, so your videos have your voice.
  • Files you choose, so it can save an export where you ask it to.

You can turn the camera or the microphone off for any recording, and you can change these permissions at any time in System Settings, under Privacy & Security.

What Easy Take collects

Easy Take does not collect personal data and does not send anything from your Mac. If that ever changes, this page and the App Store privacy label will be updated first, and the app will ask you before sending anything.

Purchases are handled by Apple

Easy Take is sold through the Mac App Store. The $14.99 in-app purchase is processed by Apple. Easy Take never sees your card details or your billing address. Apple’s own privacy policy covers the payment.

Problem reports

Easy Take keeps a log file on your Mac to help when something goes wrong. It records what happened, such as which step of an export failed, not what you recorded. It stays on your Mac. You can open it from Help, Show Log File in Finder, and you decide whether to attach it to an email.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page will show the new version and the date it was updated.
